Homemade Donuts in a Flash

Want donut goodness in less than 20 minutes and have your friends think you are an awesome mom for "slaving away all morning to make homemade donuts"? Try this simple solution that isn't totally "homemade" but pretty darn close!

Ingredients:

Refrigerator biscuits (the smaller ones work best - especially for portion control)
Oil (either Canola or Vegetable - enough for 1/2 sauce pan)
Sugar (either granulated or powdered)

Directions:

1.  Heat up oil in cooking vessel on medium heat.  I used Canola Oil this time around.  Make sure you have enough oil to fill the vessel 1/2 way.  When the oil is hot enough you will see it swirling and look like it will start to bubble.

2. While heating oil, put sugar (I used granulated) in a bowl.

3.  Prep refrigerator biscuits to frying.  Either use them whole or make them a classic donut shape.  It is up to you!

4.  Once oil is ready, drop dough into pan.  Slowly drop them or you might splash hot oil on your hands.  Use tongs to keep the dough floating in the oil and not sticking to the bottom of the pan.  Once you see the lower half is golden brown (1-2 minutes), flip the donut to cook the other side until evenly brown.

5.  Once cooked, transfer directly to sugar bowl and coat with sugar.  Have a plate ready near by to place finished donuts on.
6.  Repeat steps 4 & 5 until all donuts are made & enjoy!
