Introduction

Hi! I am Marie, and I am the new face behind Columbia Gorge Coupon Mommy. I wanted to share a little about me and how I got here. So get a snack, pull up a chair and you can get to know me...

Two week ago, I was feeling...empty...or...lost or something. My husband said with all my kids going back to school and gone all day, that I had lost my identity. Maybe that is it, he is pretty smart.

Whatever I was feeling though, I thought about working harder on my blog & corresponding Facebook page. I had about 85 wonderful followers. But I was looking to do more. I wanted to reach out to more people.

I contacted Rebecca, who is the original owner of Columbia Gorge Coupon Mommy (all aspects of it, blog, FB page etc) and was asking her how she had grown her site. As we were talking, she let me know that she had actually wanted to give it over to someone. She told me that she was hoping I would do it.

I asked my husband what he thought, because I was actually purchasing it from her, and he said..."go for it". So I did.

It has been a busy, busy time!! I am trying hard to post awesome deals, still be semi-personal, keep up with my family, house, church etc. I am still learning all the computer savvy stuff, but I do know coupons.

Right after I had my very first child, my only daughter Harmony, I wanted to stay home with her. My husband was very concerned, and told me that he was worried financially, how we would survive. I remember pleading, "if you say yes to letting me stay home, I will do whatever it takes to stay home". I guess he knew I was serious, because he said ok.

Harmony just turned 16 on the 9th of August...and I have been home with her, and her 4 brothers that whole time. I couponed, scrimped, saved and did everything I could to save money and be home.

I believe that there is huge freedom in being debt free. Getting the best price that you can. Indulging every once in a while. And living life on your own frugal terms.

I hope that you will continue this journey with me. I hope that you will comment and ask questions. I am pretty much an open book.

I look forward to getting to know you!
